Chestnut Oaks is a family association. Each member and guest should strive to respect the rights of other members.  These rules are intended to secure reasonable safety and conduct for the enjoyment of the association's facilities.


All rules will be rigidly enforced. Non-compliance with these rules could lead to suspension of the use of CORA facilities, or termination of membership.


GENERAL RULES

  1. All fees, dues, or other charges must be paid in full prior to using the facilities.  Members not remitting dues are automatically terminated.
  2. The rules and regulations can be changed by the Board without notice. The operations of the pool, opening, closing, inclement weather can be changed at the discression of the Board and the pool manager.
  3. The manager or his designee has the discretionary authority to remove anyone violating these rules. Members are expected to respect the authority of the manager. If there are issues regarding the application of this authoritythey should be made to the Board in writing.
  4. Members are required to register with the pool attendants prior to using the facility.
  5. Hours of operation hours will be stated in the annual renewal notice and hours will be posted in the facility, however they are subject to change at any time.
  6. All fees, charges for swim/tennis lessons, babysitter fees, etc will be stated in the annual renewal notice.
  7. Rules apply to members and their guests.
  8. Fees are not refunded due to expulsion due to violations of rules.
  9. Members not renewing membership must return any keys or other CORA property in their possession.



GUESTS

  1. Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.
  2. Each guest is limited to five (5) visits per season. Exceptions may be granted by the Board.
  3. Guest fees, weekly fees are subject to change at the discretion of the Board.
  4. Guest fees are not refundable.


FACILITY RULES

  1. CORA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ANY PROPERTY, VEHICLES, LOSS OF MONEY OR VALUABLES. DAMAGE TO CORA PROPERTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MEMBER.  FAILURE TO REIMBURSE CORA WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP.
  2. Parking is permitted only in the paved area.  Members are expected to park within designated parking spaces. Unauthorized vehicles shall be towed at the owner’s expense.
  3. The following are prohibited: off road, all terrain vehicles, skateboards, roller blades, model airplanes or any inappropriate use of the facilities.
  4. Pets are not allowed unless the member/owner is responsible for clean up.
  5. Possession of alcoholic beverages unless approved by the Board for an adult function.
  6. Henrico County police patrol the facilities. Trespassing charges can be made if on Association property after 10 pm unless there is a swim meet or function.
  7. Members are responsible for cleaning the facility and picking up any trash after use.
  8. Only children under the age of ten (10) are permitted on the playground equipment.
  9. In order to maintain our harmonious relationship with neighbors members willrefrain from trespassing on adjoining property at all times.


POOL RULES

  1. MINOR VIOLATIONS - The following are prohibited: loitering in the breezeway, runninplaying on ladders, hitting, use of non Coast Guard approved floats for non swimmers, diving in depths less than 5 feet, hanging on lane lines, swimming in front of diving board or slide, chewing gum, diving from the side in the deep area, hanging on the slide or diving board, use of the slide must be in the sitting position, water guns, any other activity or possession deemed to be dangerous or unsafe by the manager or designee. Violations to the above guidelines are at the discretion of the pool manager or designee and are subject to the following disciplinary actions: 1st offense - verbal warning, 2nd offense - 15 minute time out, 3rd offense - must leave CORA property with a note to be signed by parent or guardian regarding the violation.
  2. MAJOR VIOLATIONS - The following are prohibited: fighting, profanity, arguing with the pool manager or designee, dunking, rough play, standing on shoulders, any other activity deemed by the manager or designee to potentially injure other members of the pool.  Violations to the above guidelines are at the discretion of the pool manager or designee and are subject to the following disciplinary actions: 1st offense - written warning, 2nd offense - (at any time) must leave CORA property with a note to be signed by parent or guardian regarding the violation, 3rd offense - (at any time) pool privileges revoked for the remainder of the year and not permitted on CORA property without return of dues.
  3. A responsible person 14 years or older must accompany younger children to the pool. This person is responsible for the actions of the children in their charge.
  4. Responsible children 12 years and older can use the facilities without a parent.
  5. Use of the diving area is restricted to capable swimmers. Questionable swimmers will be asked to demonstrate their skills to use this area of the pool.
  6. Glass is prohibited in the pool area.
  7. The manager or designee may call for adult swims (over 18) for 10 minutes per hour if requested by an adult member.
  8. The use of headphones is encouraged, the playing of loud music as determined by the manager or designee is a minor violation.
  9. Use of the pool may be restricted during swim team meets or practices.
  10. In case of emergency, members must leave the area as directed by the manager or designee.
  11. The manager or designee prohibits pool use for 30 minutes upon hearing any thunder or sighting of lightning
  12. Only children under the age of 5 may use the baby pool and they must be accompanied by a parent or responsible party age 14 or over.
  13. Children not potty trained must use diaper and plastic pants.
  14. Children under 2 are allowed in the main pool only with a parent or guardian.
  15. Only Coast Guard approved flotation device are allowed in the main pool.
  16. The manager or designee may remove any member with open bleeding or other conditions that may jeopardize the condition of the pool.


TENNIS COURTS

  1. Only tennis shoes are allowed.
  2. League or team practice play may restrict member use at any time.
  3. Bikes, skates, roller blades, are prohibited.
  4. Everyone using the courts is expected to follow all CORA rule and regulations.
  5. Misconduct on the courts is subject to a minor violation (see pool rules)
  6. Lights must be turned off after use.
  7. CORA guest rules apply.
